Dallas Kachan, Managing Partner

Dallas is former managing director and executive editor of the Cleantech Group, the company credited with coining the term cleantech and founding the cleantech investment theme. Dana Childs, Analyst

Dana has a long background with cleantech. He was one of the founding reporter/editors for Inside Greentech, the first trade publication focused on the cleantech industry, acquired in 2007 by the Cleantech Group. He has interviewed and written about hundreds of clean technology companies, served as in-house corporate communications for a variety of corporations adopting clean technologies, and has technology PR agency experience with Fishbein Partners in Toronto, Canada.

Shannon Payne

Shannon Payne, Analyst

Shannon has been studying renewable energy and alternative energy systems since 2007. She holds a BSc in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary and her MEng in clean energy engineering from the University of British Columbia. Shannon gained exposure to non-traditional cleantech innovations through several years of participation in the ASME Earth Saver Challenge and participation in multinational cleantech entrepreneurship courses in China. Prior, she served on a simulation and modeling team at ABB Corporate Research in Switzerland.

Tyler is a columnist for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest daily newspaper. His weekly column discusses trends, happenings and innovators in the clean technology and green energy market. He's also been publishing his personal blog Clean Break since April 2005, regarded as one of the most important blogs in cleantech.

Trevor has been an alternative investments analyst for over 10 years, with a focus on cleantech and renewable energy investment opportunities since 2007. As an investment consultant, Trevor has helped several cleantech startups with market research and positioning, especially on utility-scale renewables. Prior to this, he worked on strategic marketing and capital formation in alternative assets for Bank of America. Jean-Francois has been working with innovators and entrepreneurs as a professional consultant for over ten years. He has completed over 200 projects in 30 countries, including projects related to renewable energy, clean technologies, energy efficiency and waste-to-energy. He specializes in competitive intelligence, marketing strategy as well as organizational communication and planning. Jean-Francois possesses a graduate degree in management consulting, an executive MBA and is completing a master`s degree in organizational communication.

Ellisa Feinstein

Ellisa Feinstein, Senior Consultant

Ellisa has worked in cleantech as a sustainability and communications consultant with a variety of organizations and projects, including environmental and carbon management firms, a hydrokinetic energy start-up, city government and non-profits. She also has experience in corporate social responsibility gained by working with Oracle through a PR agency, where she also managed numerous technology accounts. Ellisa received an MBA in sustainable management from Presidio Graduate School. She resides in San Francisco.

Jim Mahoney

Jim Mahoney, Managing Director China

Jim is former Chinese managing director of the Cleantech Group and ran the company’s Cleantech Forum events in Beijing and Shanghai. He has been in China 17 of the last 20 years, and is fluent in Mandarin. He’s responsible for Kachan's Hello Cleantech Showcase events in Beijing and Shanghai and consults to international companies seeking to do business in China.

Ryan Tessier

Ryan Tessier, Senior Account Manager

Ryan’s experience combines journalism with public relations agency experience. He has managed campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, leading industry organizations and international events like the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communications/English) from the University of the Fraser Valley, and a Broadcast Journalism Degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Agostino Ierace

Agostino has worked in business development for high tech industries including ICT and pharmaceutical over the past six years. He holds a graduate degree in management of international organizations and is completing a master’s degree in innovation, strategy and entrepreneurship, writing his academic project on the management of strategic alliances in the cleantech industry. His entry into the cleantech world was performing a market analysis on a project related to sustainable construction.

Kathy Chen

Kathy Chen, Associate

Kathy is currently a student at Western University in Ontario, Canada studying economics and pursuing a honours in business administration at the Richard Ivey School of Business. She has helped organize and arrange speakers for conferences, served as a social media ambassador for her business school, engaged in case competitions and is recipient of the Western Scholarship of Excellence. Kathy is interested in consulting in the future.
